In celebration of the most outstanding new products, companies and ideas at the 2011 Winter Outdoor Retailer Market, SNEWS and the 3M Corporation presented the inaugural IN-NEW-VATION Awards in six categories. Taking top honors in the Hard-Good Category was the Geigerrig Pressurized Hydration Engine.
The Geigerrig Hydration Engine, which delivers a pressurized spray of water from a hydration system, features a customized Hydrapak Reservoir, including components such as a wide mouth slide top and a revolutionary surge valve paired with a quick release hose valve — all designed, built, and manufactured by the Oakland-based OEM. Hydrapak’s Slide Top component allows the entire top of the reservoir to open up, a feature that SNEWS’ IN-NEW-VATION presenter Michael Hodgson lauded for allowing the hydration systems “to be taken apart, turned inside out and cleaned in a dishwasher.”
