Kurt is a professional ultra endurance and backcountry mountain bike athlete riding for the Industry Nine-Pivot Pro Backcountry Team and is the founder of UltraMTB LLC. Kurt was the first person to win each of the bikepacking Triple Crown events - the Colorado Trail Race, Arizona Trail 750 and Tour Divide - an incredible accomplishment!  Beyond mountain biking, Kurt holds a Phd in Geology and a co-founder of Bikepacking Roots, a non profit dedicated to supporting the bikepacking community.
