SpeedCups at the Paris Marathon

SpeedCups at the Paris Marathon

Last year, one of Europe’s most iconic road racesthe Schneider Electric Paris Marathon—announced that “from 2026 onward, every runner will be required to bring their own hydration solution (e.g., soft flask, collapsible cup, hydration pack), in line with the event’s zero-waste hydration requirement”. The shift toward more sustainable racing is growing and HydraPak is all in, ready to support the road running community.

As the Official Water Solutions Supplier, Culligan will support this model by providing its filtration expertise and water solutions, enhancing hydration and the overall runner experience. On the heels of that, HydraPak is proud to announce that all the 55,000+ runners of the event will be outfitted with our redesigned SpeedCup. An iconic event that brings together tens of thousands of runners and spectators, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris has long been committed to reducing its environmental impact, particularly in hydration. As part of this effort, the organizers, in collaboration with the city of Paris, rely on potable water from the city’s public water system for Refill stations throughout the course. No single-use cups or single-use bottles will be distributed at on-course aid stations.

  • HydraPak SpeedCups will be distributed to all runners
  • SoftFlask Speed handheld running bottles will be provided to VIPs and influencers

This partnership reflects a shared belief between HydraPak and Culligan: that small changes on race day can lead to long-term habits. By helping normalize carrying your own hydration at marquee marathon events, particularly one pushing the envelope with zero disposable cups or bottles, we’re hoping more runners rethink how they hydrate and more race directors adopt the “carry your own” model.

In addition to regular race weekend activities, our friend and fellow sustainability champion Tina Muir will be hosting a plogging event the Friday before the marathon, on April 10. Join us for a pre-race run, and help pick up waste along the streets of Paris.

As momentum continues to build around sustainable racing models, HydraPak remains committed to supporting event partners, athletes and communities with simple, durable solutions that make sustainability integral to every race.
