The cap for this tube does not stay on. It is poorly engineered and there is not enough material to provide adequate friction to keep the cap on. The tube is nice quality and insulated well but the cap comes off with the slightest touch it makes it likely to leak when that cap comes off inadvertently and the valve gets lightly pressed. It has come off like 3 times during my flight and I've never had a problem with any other hydrapak tube cap. It makes this nice insulated tube something I am hesitant to use.

Keeps liquids cold, but not frozen. Fits Salomon bladder perfectly.

I have used it a lot during winter season.
The pro is that you can put 60°C water in the reservoir.
The cons is that the valve freeze very quickly. Once you take the first sip, you must sip every 10 min otherwise you can't drink anymore. Of course, after 10 minutes the first sip is cold. If you keep drinking you get the warm water from the reservoir.
I hope Hydrapak will produce a better tube for winter use.

I just returned from a winter Sweden/Finland outdoor trip. I was hoping to love the ArticFusion Tube. Unfortunately, on our first day of snowshoeing, it did not work and water still froze. I was unable to use it the remainder of the trip.
HydraPak1 year agoThank you for the feedback, we appreciate it! The bite valve is not insulated, so it's advisable to blow water back into the reservoir after each drink. In extreme winter conditions the bite valve and sheath can freeze and block the tube.
